It's a Olympic month ! , the most prestigious sports competition which currently held in London. Singapore send 21 athletes from various sports. Singapore participated in 9 sport events.

So far, did Singapore managed to clinch any medal ? Yes ! Congratulations to Feng Tian Wei for getting bronze in women's single and congratulations to Feng Tian Wei, Li Jia Wei & Wang Yeugu for clinching bronze in women's team.

However, most Singapore didn't appreciate the win. They're complaining that the government is using foreign talent to win the medal and didn't give chance for local talent to shine.

Referring to Lee Chong Wei's achievement, Singaporean said that Malaysia should be proud that their Malaysian born badminton player managed to get silver medal whereas Singapore have to use foreign talent to win a medal.

Let me give you an example, if Lee Chong Wei is a Singaporean, the government won't be stupid enough to send foreign badminton player to compete for the medal. What I'm trying to say is, there isn't any local talent in table tennis which is better than them ( the foreign talent ). If there's, sport council or any sport organisation won't hesitate to send them instead of foreign talent. So don't blame the government, blame ourselves because we are not good enough.

Secondly, why complain about foreign talent winning medal for us instead of complaining about our local talent who didn't even win a single medal ? Singapore did send local talent. Out of 21 athletes, 13 of them are Singapore born athletes. Lets take swimming as example. Singapore send 5 swimmers to participate in the swimming event. Out of 5, one of them are foreign talent, Tao Li. All five didn't manage to get any medal but Tao Li, the one and only foreign talent in Singapore swimming team did shine though she didn't get any medal. She at least broke her own record compare to Singaporean swimmers, didn't get any medal and at the same time didn't even break their own record. What I'm trying to say is, Singapore did send local talent, Singapore did give chance to local talent. Unfortunately, only foreign talent who managed to shine.

SINGAPOREAN ! Stop complaining and criticizing them. They already gave us 2 medals in this year Olympic and for your information, Singapore has only won 4 olympic medals and out of 4, 3 won by foreign talent. Only one won by Singaporean, way back in 1960. The foreign talent already make Singapore proud, why don't we be proud of their achievement.

It's not easy to win Olympic medal, worst if they manage to win but get criticised instead. So lets appreciate the foreign talent for what they have done to us and stop blaming government without getting your facts right. If you want to see local born shine in Olympic or whatever competition, you should buck up, stop blaming, prove that our local talent is capable of winning medal just like how foreign talent did .
